Can I just say Yenni, our server, was absolutely wonderful? She was awesome and got our giant party of 8 10 people everything we needed during our time here. Total rockstar! The food was really good and we got AYCE meat! I shared a spicy broth with a light non spicy miso hot pot base with my table. We ordered multiple plates of lamb, pork, beef, and...more lamb. We also got ramune (such a nostalgic drink I haven't had it in about a decade! , as well as a few other random dim sum dishes. We topped it off with delicious lychee ice cream that I just wish I could take home with me and eat everyday. What a fantastic shabu experience! Hot pot and shabu shabu is always best with friends and family this place is worth the try.
Thankful Thursday goes to this place Shabu House . This is my go to for when I 'm in need of a good eat and drinks for those days of hard work or celebration. I 've tried many many other places and after many visits, I gotta say this will always be my go to for happiness and therapy. To many out there, wondering why? You 'll just have to go and see for yourself. But here 's my two paragraphs on it. I love hot pot and I love to experience it with people who loves to eat and will be down to sit and eat and drink for a couple hours. Plus I love good company that can enjoy it. This place is pretty expansive and has two dining areas with seating ranging from 2-10 people. I 've always come with a minimum of 4 and most was 8 and it was always fun. The staff is very nice and courteous however at busy times they can be busy and not get to you instantly so just be patient and enjoy the experience. Just remember to order more when you put all your meats in the pot. This way you 'll have a fresh set arriving when you 're taking the ones out from the pot. The meal comes with a platter of veggies and your choice of cuts of up to 4 different kind I believe. Apologies as I usually order two only. I love the tender briskets mostly and I end up ordering that only and can be eating for a good 90 mins and not be full. You have a choice of AYCE only for under $40 or AYCE +AYCD as well for under $50. Depending on our situation for the day or night, the night can be really fun with both. I mean who can not enjoy all you can eat and drink at a hot pot place. The location is on a smaller street off the Main Street of Broadway ave in Burlingame so you might have a hard time finding parking. But after a few circles and goose hunting you will find a spot on the streets or you can just park in the city parking lot nearby. Be aware that this place get super busy so you might want to plan ahead and get reservations otherwise you 'll be waiting for a table.
Very solid shabu place but the ventilation is so bad. My purse smelled like shabu for days after coming here. Also best to plan to go straight home after eating here unless you don't mind walking around smelling like shabu. I always get the spicy miso and tonkotsu broth. I can drink an entire pot of the broth by myself. I like that they give you ice cream at the end, it's the perfect end to a delicious meal.
If you're looking for a spot that specializes specifically in shabu, this is definitely it. You can do all you can eat and there are meat and vegetable options. When ordering meat, every person will also get a plate of vegetables and udon noodles. There are also multiple soup options and you can settle for a single pot or a split pot to have two soups. Don't expect a sauce bar like some other hot pot places; for shabu, you get shabu sauce, garlic, scallions, and sesame paste. We had a group of nine, so this was perfect for a large table where everyone could split into having some thing that they wanted for their soup . The quality and marbling on the meat was great! We opted only for beef but they do have lamb and pork available too. We also tried their fried shumai and agedashi tofu. Definitely recommend trying both of these, especially the fried shumai! Yenni, our waitress, was top notch. She was top notch and made sure all our needs were met without being overbearing.
