Contribuiți la feedbackWe made a wine tasting in Buenos Aires on a recent evening. We were served three Argentine wines and they were each matched with another meal. The torrons were served with a beef imperiumada, the Pinot Noir, with an onion-moushroom tare, and the Malbec with a beef, onion and green pepper kewer. The Empanada was strangely good with the Torrons! The presentation of wines and foods was well made and was nicely detailed.
Excellent service and food. Plan to spend 2 hours for dinner. The house red wine is excellent. My spouse had a fish dish, which was served over mash potatoes, which was delicious. I had the beef steak. Melts in your mouth Food early at 7, not busy.... With 9 the whole house can have. Dinner there twice and look forward to return in 2 weeks
We were first picked into the main room, and it looked very nice...until the manager said no, as tourists, you have to go and another smaller room... there were still a number of locals there, but it was definitely not as gracious as... the main room. Lunch was terrible food dry, meat strictly left hungry.
We decided to go to the final dinner in Argentina. We stayed at the nearby NH City Hotel, just a few minutes' walk away. We went early and were the only dinner guests there, but that was not important. The restaurant is cozy and the service is excellent. Our waiter gave us recommendations from the menu we went with. I had the beef flank in the salt. Didn't know what it was, but I think this is the best piece of meat I had throughout our 14 days vacation. The glass of Malbec I ordered to go with it was huge and delicious. I'm not a wine conossieur, but this is definitely a restaurant to go if you're in wine. Our waiter was helpful when we needed something and left us in peace to enjoy our meal. All in all a great experience when it came in atmosphere, service and quality of food.
Our first meal in BA and after reading the reviews, we were excited to eat at La Cava. The space is nice and attractive and our wait person was efficient and friendly almost too friendly quietly enquiring if we had a hotel. We started with...a Tortilla Espanola, which had decent flavor, but was definitely undercooked. The carponata like dish that came with the bread was delicious. We both ordered the Lomo Grille mine medium and my wife requested medium rare. . Mine came medium rare and my wife 's rare. Chimichuri was the accompaniment to the Lomo and it was different from any I 've had in the past red instead of green and pretty much lacking in the strong, bold flavors usually associated with chimichuri. The meat itself was decently flavored. The salad that came with the meat was pathetic the lettuce leaves were limp and somewhat pale they were about 3 days past their prime. We did not have dessert. The wine selection, no surprise, is very extensive and good, although wine by the glass is very limited. This is not a BA restaurant I would return to.
