Contribuiți la feedbackPlace has been CLOSED for a couple of months now. Kind of sad, it was the only Chinese place that was within walking distance from my place. Food was just OK, nothing spectacular, except for some of their tofu dishes, which were very tasty.
China Garden used to be my go-to Chinese delivery for my first month of college. I loved their Szechuan tofu and would order it with fried rice. Our relationship was going well--or so I thought. It was towards the end September when ordering my usual order with the addition of hot and sour soup did I find hair in my food. Now I wouldn 't really complain if it was only one strand of hair in one of my dishes, but there were strands of hair in two out of three dishes that I ordered. The worst thing was that the hair in my hot and sour soup was not found until I was slurping my soup and was rudely interrupted by my little hair friend . Looking at some of these Yelp reviews, I have come to the conclusion that sanitation is not really China Garden 's priority. While I think their Szechuan tofu is delicious, my inner germaphobe will not let me support a business that doesn 't value cleanliness.
The food is your standard Chinese food. It tastes good, and in my experience, is the best Chinese is the Main Line area. There is nothing to make it stand out, though, and the prices are a bit much for Chinese. The do not eat here sign they have hanging up is also rude. Guess who pays for those tables and chairs? The customers!
The food is good here. Not great. It's convenient as I can call in my order and walk over they have delivery but its such a short walk for me that I might as well. The prices are decent and they have some coupons in their menu that we take advantage of. I've had fried rice a few times and it's just lacking something but we eat it. Had the chicken and cashews once and that was a bit blah as well. The moo shu pork was flavorful. Scallion pancakes are good. Basic egg rolls. Wonton soups broth was a bit greasy on top and the last time I had it the broth was dark usually I've only had a pale yellow broth. The service is good and friendly.
Greasy Chinese food. They want you to enjoy your food in the sanctity of your own home. Got to respect that. It's Chinese food so you'll regret it 20 minutes after you eat it.
