Casual service x great sandwiches, wish a fresh selection of craft beer. I would gladly eat a hot chicken weekly for the rest of my life.

If 0 stars was an option I would click that. I went the first time for a 5$ promotional burger ad from their website and when I got there it no longer existed. I gave this place a 2nd try and went for 1$ wing night. I was surprised to find out I needed to buy a beer in order to get this deal and then I was capped at only 4 wings per beer. The bartender had a Netflix movie on the television at full volume and the guests all looked confused as the bartender watched intensely with his back to the customers. The beer I wanted to get for the deal was not eligible for the deal as well. There were so many caveats for their promotional deals that I even asked the bartender if he was messing with me because I couldn’t believe this classic bait and switch. Food is okay, felt like I was introducing on movie night and every “deal” is a lame excuse to get you in the door to be met with nothing but disappointment. Service was awful as all eyes were on the televisions. I couldn’t post the video but I took a screen shot from the movie night.

My friends and I walked into Mekelburgs on Saturday night without having any idea it was bar, and we ended up having the best night! The bar was empty but the bartender David made the experience. He was so friendly and accommodating, made sure we all had waters and explained the menu well. The food was also great—highly recommend the ginger scallion wings!! He also let us choose the music since no one else was there, and we had a blast. Eventually a few more people trickled in, and David was equally accommodating, attentive, and personable with everybody. Literally the best service I’ve ever experienced at a bar. Thank you!!

Went here to grab a small bite on a Wednesday evening. The pozole with tostada was brilliant. As was the grandma's pizza. They have a theme for every day of the week, Wednesday trivia was absolutely fun!

The restaurant itself is diverse and offers delicious options. The fried chicken sandwich, cleverly served between two waffles as buns, is both inventive and incredibly tasty, albeit a bit messy. The caviar baked potato is also exceptional. Most menu items are hits, but there are occasional misses when it comes to sandwiches; for example, the porchetta sandwich was humorously oversized but not very flavorful. The atmosphere leaves a bit to be desired—essentially just chairs and tables in the back of a deli, which fits the vibe but isn't the coziest place to linger. Nonetheless, the quality of the food more than compensates for this. Be sure to visit for both your dining and grocery needs!
