Contribuiți la feedbackWe ate dinner here, a la carte. Some lovely dishes at fair prices and good service(one dish we hated and they struck it from the bill). Place was pretty dead for a Saturday night though. One other table with a couple and another table with a guy reading a book. The bar at the other end of the lobby looked like it would have been a better choice for atmosphere. Also it was cold inside and I had to put my puffer jacket on. There's no door between the restaurant and the front door of the hotel and when people came and went it got pretty chilly. Not a big deal but over a couple of hours a bit uncomfortable. Overall not a bad place, especially if you bring your own good vibes and remember to dress warm.
Current promo for hotel guests: All large plates A$25. Also this month, free dessert to celebrate the restaurant 's 'birthday '. Had the lamb chops (A$43) for only A$25. Delicious food. My partner and I took my in-laws out for dinner and ordered the chef’s selection. We were excited and expecting a fun night with amazing food. However the 2.5 hour banquet is a bit of a frustration. There are plenty entries or “small plates” and most of them are of ok quality. However, you just have to wait quite a long time before they bring on the next “small plate”. We become a bit sleepy and the baked egg plant came alone it’s salty and under-cooked. We finished it anyway in the hope that the main would be a pleasant surprise. The main is steak. It’s burned outside and **** and chewy inside at this point I’m not sure the small portion is a blessing. We waited patiently for the bill I was relieved that the waiter didn’t ask me if we enjoyed the food. The photo is the main I shared with my father in law.
The $99/p chef selection was made of cheap ingredients, slowly presented in a quiet evening and the steak was not warm enough. Arrogant chef with poorly selected food. Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: A$100–120 Food: 1 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 3
We went for the chef’s selection menu and was pleasantly and amazingly surprised! It’s really simple honest food cooked well. Beef steak was amazing and I had to order another chocolate mousse after a long dinner. I can’t wait to go to Canberra just to eat here! Wow just wow!! Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner
