Grandview Hotel - Bowen

We were a group of 13 people and we ordered a variety of appetizers and entrees. Everything was incredible and everyone had a fantastic evening. The food was amazing and the service was great. We loved the menu and thought the prices were reasonable for the quality of the food we received.

I visited the restaurant with my family. The staff service was not good at all. We waited an unreasonable amount of time for our dessert, it would have been faster if I had cooked it myself in the kitchen.

However, on our most recent visit, we were left disappointed. Hoping for something simple, we ordered the chicken schnitzel, thinking we couldn't go wrong. We weren't aware that it was Wednesday, when the second main meal is half price. The schnitzel was dry and lacking in fresh flavor. It appeared to have been cooked and reheated, as did the roast potatoes which tasted like they had been sitting in the refrigerator for too long. The vegetables were fine, but we ended up leaving a lot of our meal uneaten. We didn't bother mentioning our disappointment to the waitress who cleared our table, as we doubted it would have changed the quality of the food. It's a shame that our usual enjoyable experience at the Grandview was marred by this disappointing meal.

Fun trivia night but don’t put ketchup or cold and raw onion rings on nachos please, maybe a bit of sour cream would be nice!

Tried to do a review on Google but already done one in February so not allowed go figure Travelling again to Cairns so went for lunch on Anzac Day once again fantastic food and exceptional staff especially the English/Welsh lady in the front bar
