Assaggio Italiano - BORREGO SPRINGS

I have frequently visited this restaurant, often bringing along short-term groups of 10 to 25 people or more. The service and food have consistently been excellent, especially considering the brief notice and the location. It's a great place to stop!

This is the only Italian restaurant in Borrego Springs, and it's run by a Chinese woman. Despite this unique combination, the food is both delicious and affordable. The restaurant is situated at the general airport in Borrego Springs; while the exterior may not be impressive, the interior is lovely and offers beautiful views of the airport from the bar area. If you're looking for a break from Casa del Zorro, this is definitely the spot to visit!

The food varied from mediocre (pasta with red sauce) to delicious (vitello alla sorrentino), bringing to mind meals from the local trattorias in Parma, Italy. Although it's an airport restaurant, it has a more upscale vibe. Don't expect a quiet, intimate setting here. The service for our large group was outstanding, even better than at La Casa del Zorro.

Funky place at the airport. Italian (only Italian in the city. Good Chicken Caesar Salad. Homemade noodles.

Food was excellent. Service was a little slow, but very friendly when it came. Seafood platter and tiramisu were delicious.
