Boone Saloon

If Saloon is good at one thing, it’s charging more to your card people tipping themselves out. This is the second time I’ve had a problem with saloon and I’ll be honest, take your business somewhere else because it’s not worth it here. Tapp room honestly is a great spot during the day and at night when bands perform it’s actually quite chill. Explanation: The bartender on April 8, 2023 was very rude to myself and my friends. I had a moment where I cried and he tried to get us kicked out then proceed to say “Shoo away now, this is my money time”. Lol so respectfully my friends and I gave him a $0 tip. Upon checking our bank statements I see he graciously tipped himself $10. Good thing I always take pictures of my receipts!

We were at the basement level. Fun to play pool. Kids enjoyed arcade games. Food was good. We wanted to watch a game on TV but could not get anyone to get it turned on.

The bartender was very friendly. I accidentally forgot my wallet and of course I scrambled to find other payment options available on my phone. Fortunately, another patron offered to pay for my beers and I was able to send money to him electronically. All the while, bartender was more than understanding. The craft beer selection is moderate, not great but I was able to find something that I enjoyed. The environment is interesting. The upstairs is nice and cozy with the woodwork, but downstairs feels like a college frat house. I was there late at night with very few people around so it's hard to judge the environment without a crowd.

The bartenders at this restaurant have a terrible attitude. When I asked for the price of a pour of Blanton's, I was shocked by the cost, assuming it would be cheaper in Boone than in Raleigh. The bartender's response was rude, telling me "If you don't like it, I'll sell it to the next person." This behavior was very unprofessional. I would advise going to any other bar in Boone instead.

This restaurant is a peaceful place with delicious food during the daytime and early evening. The outdoor patio is fantastic for enjoying a meal or drinks outside. I have visited this place over 20 times for lunch, dinner, or drinks, and the service has always been exceptional. The chicken wings with dry rub are a must-try, and the grilled salmon sandwich is also superb. I have never been disappointed with any of my orders here.
