We visited on the 2nd October 2023, Assad a recommendation on trip advisor. If you have a gluten free intolerance or are coeliac and fancy a great tasting pizza, this is the place! There are different types of basis, herbs, classic, easy digestible and one other! And all are gluten free. They make the dough in house with a separate preparation area to the wheat side, so we were guaranteed no cross contamination! The pizzas were delicious! I had a normal base, my wife a gluten free base and you couldn’t tell the difference! They have perfected it. A brilliant restaurant with lovely helpful friendly staff! A must if you’re in Bologna. It’s a bit of a walk, about 45 minutes from the train station. There are no local bus stops and taxis are difficult to book. We weren’t staying in a hotel so taxis may not be a problem if you are. Definitely recommend!!
My daughter I stayed at the Lazzaretto apartments round the corner for a week and for ease a couple of nights we went to Papeo for our evening meal. It was great to find such a high quality pizzeria just round the corner. The first time we both had pizzas courgette flowers. The variety of pizzas was fantastic we chose the recommended dough. The second time we wanted something lighter started with bruschetta then we each had a salad. Everything we tried was absolutely delicious even if the portions were so big that we couldn’t finish everything. Excellent service great value, each time approx €40 with water some alcohol. Papeo is obviously very popular with the locals and with good reason.

Ho ordinato la pizza di canapa, secondo me interessante. Da provare gli altri due impasti, uno grano Cappelli, celebre e pregiato ed uno di grani antichi siciliani. Personalmente aggiungerei un impasto farro 100% per avere veramente tutte le frecce al proprio arco. Gli ingredienti sono...
