Smith's - Bolivar

The server was absolutely beautiful! It was our first time visiting Smith's during our trip from Kansas City Airport to Branson for the holiday. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and the staff was very friendly. We wish we could have tried the cakes! The pork cutlet sandwich was incredible and huge—about the size of a hubcap! My picky daughter finished all her mac and cheese, which tells you just how fabulous it was!

On a recent Thursday morning, we arrived before 10 a.m. and were unable to order our usual favorites: chicken, potatoes, white gravy, green beans, and a dinner roll, which is usually quite delicious (more on that later). Instead, she chose pancakes with two scrambled eggs on the side, while I opted for a Western omelet (substituting sausage for ham), hash browns, and a cookie with gravy instead of toast. A frosty bottomless glass of sweet tea helped wash everything down. My meal was, as always, absolutely delightful. Her pancakes, while a tad overcooked, were still very tasty. The tea is usually excellent. This brings me to why I rated the restaurant four stars instead of five. We have occasionally encountered inconsistencies in the quality, quantity, and preparation of our chicken dishes. There have also been times when the sweet tea tasted a bit off, likely due to the storage container being left too long without proper maintenance. We also once had a rare instance where our server seemed overwhelmed. However, these occurrences are not the norm. Given that the restaurant regularly serves over 100 guests and occasionally caters to busloads traveling along Highway 13, managing the food and staffing demands is no small feat. On that day, our server Kim took great care of us. Thank you, Kim! Johna, who is frequently present, greeted us like family, which we truly appreciated. Many employees have been with the restaurant for a long time, and they excel at making their customers feel welcome and at home.

We had a delightful experience at Smith's! Our server was incredibly sweet and attentive, and I hope you enjoyed your holiday with your grandparents! We drove through Bolivar and couldn't resist stopping by. The grilled chicken Alfredo was excellent, bursting with flavor, and the salad was fresh. And the cakes... wow, they were absolutely fantastic!

Fantastic cubblers! Great menu of hometown cooking goodness. Avoid the chicken, it was a little dry. Several seating options. Rural Missouri atmosphere. A little gift shop. Large parking lot.

My first visit and world famous pork tenderloin sandwich is no joke. BEST I have ever had. Crispy ,juicy,and thick tender pork. Yum !! Oh our server was above and beyond had a refill of drinks on way before we were finished with the 1st. Very polite and friendly eventhough she was busy. The placed was packed. MUST TRY the BANNANA PIE.
