Contribuiți la feedbackThis has been our favorite place to eat in KC for a couple of years now. Have loved the food, atmosphere and service from the start. Sadly, went this past week to find a new menu with a limited selection, pricing changes and the gorgeous array of desserts that once adorned your glass case, no longer available. We stayed for a drink and appetizer and then went to eat dinner elsewhere. To say we are sad and disappointed about the changes is an understatement. We wish you all the best, still, as you move in a new direction.
Wow this place is amazing. So is their little cocktail stop across the street. Eric was filling in and was our waiter. He was over the top and we could tell how much enjoys his job and the people he works for! We will be back soon!!
It was an absolutely wonderful experience! My wife and I had a date night here, and we couldn't have been happier. The food was fantastic and filled with flavor! We got french onion soup, arancini, a lemon curd tart, and scallop risotto. We weren't disappointed in a single item. The atmosphere was immaculate. Service was fantastic. Overall, I definitely recommend checking them out and enjoying some fantastic French cuisine. Disclaimer: The front of the store makes it look closed, and the signage leading in isn't the best. There's currently a lot of construction in the area.
An interesting experience. Went for tea, which starts at $60. For that you get some grapes, a few mini pastries (scone, muffins, biscuit), three finger sandwiches, a macaron, and tea or coffee. Just bagged tea, not loose leaf or any special blend. They charge mandatory 20% gratuity (table of 4), so it comes to just over $78 with tax for finger foods and a couple cups of tea. Pastries are good, but not particularly special. Paid cash and wasn't given change despite the built-in gratuity, which was an interesting choice. The ambiance is lovely, and I think they're counting on people being so impressed by that they're willing to forgive everything else. The servers were fine, and everything was quick. We had considered going back for dinner but won't. I don't mind tipping well for good service, but it feels so gross and presumptuous to do it this way (I'd prefer they just raise the price overall and state it's included up front.... or pay their workers themselves, but that's a different conversation). 100% not worth it. It was fine, but there are better pastries and tea elsewhere, and nothing made this feel special enough to justify the cost. I like expensive restaurants, but only when something is particularly excellent. This wasn't it.
Tailleur is a niche lil gem we discovered 2 weeks ago. We went there twice and have yet to taste anything we disliked. The food, dessert, drinks, ambience, wait staff, and decorations were just wonderful. I tried to order miso cod last time though the chef refused because the quality of the fish was not up to par that day. I was quite appreciative and impressed Hope to be back soon!!!!
