Brilliant Coffee - Bloomington

The best gelatos I've ever tasted! The flavors are unique, and the prices are quite reasonable. The whiskey gelato is especially exceptional.

In the first year or two after this place opened, it easily earned a 5-star rating from me. They offered excellent coffee, tasty scones, and had more affordable prices than the other coffee shops in town. However, a couple of years ago, they increased their prices to match those of their competitors, and they discontinued their decaf espresso, which is a significant issue for me since I primarily drink decaf. While their coffee remains good, I started visiting less frequently due to the higher prices, and eventually stopped entirely after they removed the decaf option. Both changes were quite disappointing for me. Nevertheless, I'm still giving them 4 stars because, for most people who don’t need decaf, it’s still a great spot.

I don't typically play favorites, although Brilliant Coffee, tastes as genuinely clever and of character as the name suggests.Cheers to Brilliant Ideas in 2023!

The coffee is quite good, but don't trust that they're open based on the hours on their door, or Facebook page. Rumor has it that their Instagram posts more accurate hours. If I knew when I could get coffee instead of disappointment, I'd rate 5 stars.

Unanimously voted to be the best coffee in Bloomington among my friends. The gelato is out-of-this-world. They even sell spiked coffee! You won't regret going to Brilliant Coffee Co., I promise.
