The Covered Wagon - Birmingham

Went to Covered Wagon on 20th December, was a lunch time so not very busy. There were 10 of us in our party. Food tasted fine but came out in stages and some of us had finished before others had started eating. This was not the main issue, the main issue was the service. One of the rudest members of staff I have encountered in a long time. This person ruined the whole experience and as such Covered Wagon have lost 10 customers. I will not recommend this place purely because of the service.

Great eating very fresh great service totally recommended they are not disappointed eating is well cooked and very tasty a trip to this grillhouse worth.

We had an early evening at the booking, in which did our local pub and there for their now famous curry. it is always popular here and there were many families among us early diners. service of bruce and ele behind the bar was. friendly, attentive and efficient. the herbs quickly came through: a chicken salad, rich and dark with spinach and a silky texture, fish curry (but milder than on the menu) and a creamy, thick tarka daal. I prefer my spoon as if it's huge or sour. the aromas were fresh and lively. it is not a chic restaurant, but a pub that makes very superior Indian cuisine. portions are generous and we have taken the half of our curries to the house (but not the delicious rice or tandoori roti we are going to look over again in any case, although the booking seems advisable as the place really fills.

The best we had for a long time. bruce our server was attentive and very knowledgeable. will come back defo. lamb was from this world!

Best meal I had in the old. taz the waiter was fantastic. can't fail. beautiful Indian food. large portion size. delicious food. it's a Jewel.
