We’ve been loyal customers for over 12 years. But in the past 2 years service has been abysmal. It appears that if you order through Justeat or Deliveroo that you are more of a priority customer than those who telephone order or order in person. Typically the last few times we have ordered we are told that it will be 15-20 mins but invariably ends up being between 45-60 mins wait, while Justeat and Deliveroo are in and out every few minutes. The food is still good but the service needs significant improvement if they want my loyal custom.
Ordered a Take away and collected. Busy Saturday night but service was efficient and fast. Starter shredded duck. Very nice. Mains, king Prawn with ginger spring onion, very tasty, ginger was soo tasty. Malaysian Fried rice. Moist and more than expected. Free prawn crackers, Bonus! Sadly other main, Chicken Red Thai curry was disgusting, so we left it. Phoned next day and gave feedback. No problem, they agreed to swap it for something else without any argument. Excellent customer service, so 5 stars given.
Food is always good. I ordered over the phone, and there was a lot of background noise. Subsequently the person taking the order must have written down my order incorrectly, even though they read the order back to me correctly. What arrived at my house was not what I ordered, and was one dish light. I phoned back to say there was something missing, and the member of staff insisted it was not their mistake, and if I wanted it changed there would be an extra delivery charge and I’d have to wait. Not really the right way to treat customers but I won’t be ordering over the phone again. I would use the restaurant again, but only to order in person and check the contents before I leave the premises lesson learnt!
This evening we had a takeaway and it was delicious. The dish I chose was king prawn with tomatoes nd onions in a tomato sauce. It was so fragrant and reminded me of the food I used to enjoy as a younger person. The Kam Ling was our favourite restaurant in the 60's. Last night's meal was nostalgic. I can recommend the food, it was piping hot and the special fried rice was also delicious. My husband had the duck and mushroom curry, his plate was clean.
