Canal Square - Birmingham

Attending conventions and trade shows can often feel draining, but finding the right restaurant can completely transform the experience.

I am aware that many people simply pass through this impressive building, as I often do as well. However, I am truly amazed by this place.

The ICC hosts a variety of events, from political party conferences (it is the only venue that has hosted all three main political parties) to Slimming World gatherings.

I usually never write bad reviews as it's best to say nothing at all if you don't have anything nice to say. Also we are quite easy to please. However, this restaurant is just atrocious. Rude waitresses who didn't know what was on the menu! Rude service when pushing people out of the way to place food on the table. Orders wrong. 2 hour wait for main course and restaurant was empty. Accompaniments clearly out of a jar......one being Strawberry jam with chicken! I kid you not! Drinks spilt on guests. Food brought out at different times. The list goes on and on. Like I said, usually I don't write bad reviews but this was too poor to miss.

We enjoyed our visit to Canal Sq. The food was tasty, especially the starters of which we ordered 3 between 2 people. The presentation of the food was lovely and main course was great. Only down side was that the restaurant was very quite on a Saturday night, we were the only couple there and apart from another small group the place was empty. This affected the ambience and made the evening less enjoyable. The waiters were inexperienced and often showed immaturity but were friendly. The manager or host was really friendly and asked for feedback between each course.
