Taco Mama - Birmingham

Tonight was our first time to visit this place. as expected, everything was fabulous! Many thanks for a perfect 40-year anniversary dinner! yes, we could have gone somewhere, we chose taco mama!

This restaurant is a fantastic choice for dining and drinks with friends. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, with a seamless flow between the ordering counter and seating area thanks to the open interior and outdoor dining. The staff were friendly and attentive. We started with some drinks and were impressed by their margaritas. While it's not difficult to make a good margarita, the seasonal flavors added a unique twist that exceeded our expectations. The food was exceptional, with high-quality ingredients used in traditional Mexican dishes with a modern twist. The crispy shells served as perfect vessels for the barbacoa and toppings, which were delicious. The freshly made chips were thin and paired well with a flavorful salsa. All of the sides were tasty, with the cilantro rice standing out as a favorite - the only complaint being that we wished there was more of it to enjoy!

My husband and I visited Taco Mama on Hwy 119 last night and were pleasantly surprised to find out it was their first night open. We were impressed by the service, food, and atmosphere. The watermelon margarita was delicious and so was our food. One thing that stood out was the attention to detail in making my Yo Mama burrito - the cheese, tomato, and avocado were evenly distributed throughout the burrito, unlike other places where they are all at one end. We will definitely be returning!

On Tuesdays, margaritas are half off until 3pm at this restaurant. The food is delicious and the service is casual, yet friendly and attractive.
