Hotbox - Birmingham

I was not impressed by this restaurant and felt quite disappointed, especially given its great location next to the brewery. The fries tasted like something you would find at a small concession stand, and the edamame hummus wontons were just overly soft fat on overcooked chips. With only two vegetarian/vegan options available, it really wasn't worth the prices.

The girl who worked there was not only friendly but also skilled at her job. The fries were outstanding—crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside!

Hotbox is fantastic! Everything I've tried there has been delicious. Their burger is among my favorites in the city, and the lemongrass chicken is gluten-free! The staff are really friendly as well. To be honest, the only reason I visit the brewery where they’re located is for Hotbox (no hard feelings towards the brewery, though—it’s quite popular). I highly recommend it!

I got food poisoning after I ordered the fried chicken sandwich. I had a few bites and thought immediately, it tasted, and it felt slim. I took it back to the truck and asked if it could go back to the grill/if I could get something else. I was told? How does the chicken taste? the server went away from me without correcting. I threw up several times in the night. The pommes were delicious.

Super cool staff. Cool set up, even getting your food through the window was a cool experience. And it's connected to a pretty cool bar too. Which has really nice seating both indoor and out. But most importantly, REALLY GOOD FOOD. We had the lemongrass fried chicken, the Korean BBQ egg rolls and the hotbox burger. Everything was delicious. I'm not a food blogger or anything, so I'll spare you trying describe how it all tasted, but I'll just say all that mess was hella good. I'll be back next time we're in Birmingham.
