Phatty's Seafood Steakhouse - Billings

This quaint little establishment is easy to overlook, but its vibrant character more than compensates for its size. I've visited a couple of times, and during my first visit, I was advised to try the Kitchen Sink Jambalaya. In hindsight, I should have explored other options, as I'm now completely captivated by this dish and can't imagine trying anything else. It’s honestly the best Cajun food I've ever had, and I would feel a serious sense of loss if I chose something different. Just a heads-up, it's quite spicy, but it's so delicious that you won't want to stop eating it. Definitely worth a visit!

As for families, this place is definitely kid-friendly. However, it's small, so bringing a large group might be challenging. Parking is a breeze with a large lot available due to nearby shopping, so you won't have to worry about finding a spot.

Without a doubt, this was the best dining experience we've ever had. The food was absolutely amazing, but what truly set this place apart was the staff! The service was outstanding, and the atmosphere was fun and welcoming. They made us feel like part of the family, as if we had known them for ages! As a southern woman, I felt completely at home here, and I can't wait to return!

Once we received our drinks, we ordered from a menu that, while only a single page long, featured a diverse range of dishes. This streamlined approach allows the kitchen to focus on their specialties and maintain fresh ingredients. My wife’s shrimp tacos were outstanding! The shrimp had a crispy exterior and were juicy inside; she received two generous tacos. She particularly enjoyed the sauce, which was dill-based and had just the right amount of spice for her (mild to my taste, though). The fried potatoes served as a side were a delightful cross between fries and wedges, and they hit the spot, especially paired with a side of remoulade for both the tacos and the potatoes. My shrimp and grits were delicious as well. The creamy grits complemented the spicy sauce that seasoned the shrimp and boudin wonderfully. The side salad was tasty, with the flavored croutons being a highlight. Meadow did an excellent job catering to our needs without being intrusive. Live music was entertaining, although it was a bit too loud, even though we tried to sit as far away as possible. Nevertheless, we appreciate Phatty's for being bold (just maybe turn it down a notch next time). All in all, it was a great experience, and we’ll definitely be back soon!

This restaurant was excellent! They really cater to individual spice preferences—my dish was mild, while my husband enjoyed his with maximum heat. The flavors of our meals were delightful. I’ll definitely remember to take photos next time. Plus, the wait staff were fantastic and attended to us promptly! It’s a great spot! I had the spicy chicken sandwich with green beans on the side, and my husband had crawfish and fried alligator.
