Set back enjoy my story.A couple of days ago this fatboy got a craving for some flesh and decided to go to a local meat market, as carnivore does. We pull up to Meatheads Meat Market and was greeted by to two meat cleavers as door handles that looked like Excalibur Da Meat Slayer welded into a fine hardwood door that had to be crafted by the gods themselves. I opened the door to this Holy Mecca to every big man's dream. A tear of happiness rolled do my cheek and fell softly under my chins. The employees greeted me and my family like angels in heaven. Their majestic voices flowed over a display cabinet that showcased a gourmet section of brats and well prepared meats. I was so excited that had a outer body experience and only ended with my eyes came across a outstanding selection of cheese curds. All I can remember that my shopping cart was starting to pile up and my wife looking at me like I had lost my mind. My wife called out to me to try to get me to focus but I think for a second I was in pandemic mode stocking up for fallout and preparing for the end. She asked what meats I wanted and told her to get everything! She started to call of different cuts of meats and keep in mind I was still pulling bags of cheese. My heart was raising and felt like this dream was going to end. We gathered for a straight hour and decided to take our haul to the checkout. I started to place each each item from the cart onto the checkout. Feeling of over spending was running threw my mind and I knew that we was going to have to my crucial decisions ahead I prepared myself for the worst. When the employee told me the amount I spent I was shocked because it was not that expensive! So far my family has ate Meatheads products for about a week now and can't not complain about the cost, taste nor the quality of their products. This by far best meats in Iowa and the best brats I have personally ever ate! I even had told my kids it's their destiny to become a brat maker at Meatheads. Here the cool things about Meatheads... One if you buy from them your supporting local business and helping them thrive, They have non meat products like candy, pickles and sauces and freezer ready meats! They are clean and this is coming from a Chef and someone that understands food safety practices and procedures. The experience of Meatheads is way I well personally be going back. They are honest hard working crew and greeted me and blended family.
1st of today was a great day to enjoy the satisfaction of this meat market! My very diverse family and I enjoyed the vibe, they were very polite and might I add very generous. My kids picked out some gourmet candy; Lego blocks and the gummies strawberry's. They had a variety of meats, sauces, pickles even popcorn. I got home cooked the philly cheese steak brats and let me say very satisfied, best brat ever had. I wish they had catfish but that's the only thing I have to say.But very tasty thank you all very much!
Can't wait for my friends from the QC to get here (AZ) w my Brats!! Best Brats EVER!!!
Spoiled pork rib. I have purchased meat from the Bettendorf location at least a dozen times and have been burned two of those times. First was last year I had bought the frozen prime rib and after defrosting for a day in the refrigerator they turned out to be spoiled. I thought mistakes happen and won't worry about it and just threw them away. This time I went to purchase some t-bones and pork ribs. Got the t-bones from the counter and the ribs from the freezer. Defrosted the ribs for two days in the fridge and when opening the sealed package a strong overwhelming smell of sulfur come from the ribs. My wife walked in and gagged not knowing what the smell was at the time. Had to bag and throw away 19 dollar's of rib. I didn't get the receipt at the time of purchase because I said no I won't need it. My mistake. But that wouldn't change my comments. They need to do better at quality assurance and I need to do better at getting my receipt. I will be doing my shopping elsewhere as the percentage of failure is high at the small amount of times I have gone.
I wanted to go to this place since my mom told me about it when she had seen their booth at the farmers market. I stopped by and they had plenty of options available and they have lots of flavor of brats. I tried their pickle roll-ups a while back and they were pretty good, just a little dry. I will say, I like the quality of meat and think the offerings are great but the prices do seem a little high. This will be something I go to only when I really want to treat myself...
