Popei's Clam Bar & Seafood Restaurant

We had an excellent experience as usual. eating and waiting staff are the best. joe the owner walks around and interacts with the girls we find as a sign of a well-run establishment something that they rarely see more.

Popei is not impressive. No matter what we order, eating is fresh, hot and beautifully plated. service is exceptional. we had 4 different entrees, all were large-baked seafood boards, lobster ravioli, filled pork and chicken manases. our friends and we enjoyed every bite.

We sat right away at our reservation. we had the popei sampler and it had everything we liked. the long island and new england suppe was hot and tasty. we ordered the linguine with the works, bruised combination plate and the paella special dish. they were all cooked to perfection. the service was excellent. would recommend.

The oysters and clams were excellent. Service was decent but not great. The cooked food also was decent but not great. Overall I would recommend this restaurant. Don't go in with ultra high expectations. The owner or chef did come to our table to ask if everything was okay. I do appreciate when they do that.
