A.J's Roadside Cafe - Belleville

The food at this restaurant was fantastic, and the staff was equally wonderful. The prices were very reasonable. I ordered eggs Benedict, and it was absolutely perfect. My husband ordered eggs and bacon, and they were also perfect. The service was fast and efficient.

What began as a U-turn to return into Belleville to find a restaurant for lunch ended up with delicious results. We were travelling through the city, wanted lunch and got lost. :( What a serendipitous turn of events when we happened upon A.J's Roadside Cafe. We decided to take a chance and ordered Eggs Benny. Wow. We were completely blown away - delicious, satisfying and oh-so tasty! Wish we lived in this part of the province because A.J's would be one of our regular haunts. Btw, they close at 2 PM so get there early!

The restaurant is located in a small corner of a plaza and offers delicious food. It may be a bit hidden from the city's main areas, but it is easily reachable from Highway 62.

We decided to give this place a try, despite its location. *The photo attached to this profile is not a photo of this restaurant.* This restaurant had 7-8 tables maximum and was very small. The service was great. The waitress was friendly and attentive. The food was a bit too greasy and tasteless for my liking. The cook who is in plain view, not even 6' from the counter could not be bothered to look up from her phone when we first entered or when we left. While I really appreciated the kind waitress, I don't think we will be returning.

Great small spot for breakfast. Tastes amazing and they even have hot sauce for those of us that like spice with our eggs.
