At first, my dinner date and I were seated at a small table for 2, and though this was a bit frustrating, we rolled with it and understood that there were more groupings of 3+ Patrons dining. (On my reservation I asked to be seated at a large table and mentioned the purpose: that my dinner date and I would be trying several items. To MY surprise, after a group left a table, it was immediately cleared off for us, andour waiter moved us along after the manager/owner mentioned there being a better spot for us. (GREAT JOB, MANAGEMENT TEAM! NOW FOR THE FOOD REVIEWS: EVERYTHING I ATE WAS AMBROSIAL!!!! 1. Vegetable Lasagna is INCREDIBLE!!!!! YOU MUST TRYIT! Whoever placed this on the menu is a genius!!! 2. The OSSO meal: TENDER MEAT!!!!! GREAT MASHED POTATOES and the vegetable medley was an awesome combination and prepared well. 3. BRAISED BEEF CHEEKS appetizer is a Must!!!!!!! I HAVENEVER TASTED THIS ITEM PREPARED AS TENDER ANYWHERE ELSE THAT LISTS IT ON THEIR MENUS! It is another absolute must! 4. OCTOPUS ???? MEAL: Okay, this was the first time I tried ????(and last...but only because my growth mindset is limited onthis oceanic creature . It was well-marinated, too. It was tender and juicy. If I had to compare it to something, it would be to that of a tender and well-seasoned piece of chicken breast. 5. Yummy PASSION FRUIT DESSERT!!!!!!!! Who cameup with this menu? Very tasty! Restaurant ambiance is nice! Our waiter was THE BEST!!!! (I forgot his name, but he was handsome with long hair. This restaurant needs to be featured on the Food Network/Cooking Channel. The Chef and othercook staff/bar tenders really work hard to prepare tasty food and drinks here. The presentation of the food is unlike any other in these parts. At the end of our great time here, the owner/manager came by and let us know that he was awareof accommodating us to a bigger table and that he just couldn't initially. (Very
Excellent restaurant, particularly for those on gluten free diet. Clean food options are always appreciated. Amazing wine list. Great variety of choices. Wife had a red wine from Lebanon that was incredible. Service was outstanding. Answered all of questions and made good suggestions. I got Korean pork sliders. Nice mix of flavors. Will definitely be back when our travels bring us to Baton Rouge again.
Absolutely amazing. The food was divine, the drinks were well make and strong and the staff was friendly and knowledgeable. The place is a little pricy but is well worth every penny. They have live music on Sunday morning. Make sure you ask about dessert, you will not regret it!
My husband and I visited Cocha a couple of nights ago and had one of our best dining experiences anywhere. I'll be honest we are food snobs. We have lived and travelled abroad a good bit and have felt like New Orleans was our only option for interesting, well thought out dishes (with Nino's in BR being the only exception . We took our time at Cocha (3 hours! , enjoying multiple rounds of small plates and drinks. The food was incredible and we really appreciated the attention to detail the chef and owners put into the menu kimchi domas, grilled octopus with edamame, mushroom carpaccio, oyster dumplings in absinthe sauce. And the wines were spectacular we tasted several we had never had before and Saskia, the very gracious and knowledgeable owner, had an extensive knowledge about each wine, where they came from, and what she liked about them. We ended our meal with 2 delicious desserts and their recommended dessert wines. We closed the place down and loved every minute of it!
We enjoyed every part of our experience from beginning to end. The atmosphere and concept are really cool; it’s laid back like a big city neighborhood place. Our server, Chelsea, set the tone; she was the perfect combination of easy going, knowledgeable, there every time we wanted her, and never hovering/intrusive. I loved my unique Aquavit cocktail, the dip duo, duck, cheese plate, etc. The vegan ice cream was (somehow) one of the richest, best ice creams I’ve had. The manager checked in with us and walked us out at the end of our nearly 5 hour visit. We will return here soon, and we hope to do the chef’s table, as well.
