We were condoned that we are not from mainland europe and we aren't aware of the restaurant habits since we wanted to order a starter and a main course for two people. Later we were asked if we knew how to eat fondue which: dipping bread crumbs in molten cheese.
A traditional Basel restaurant. Recommended. Wrong Schnägge
We ate for the first time in this restaurant, on the ground floor, where the servers were super friendly. The second time, we had not booked and asked if there was still a table for two. The waiter motions for us to follow him upstairs and places us at a table for 4 people. The second server then tells us that two other customers may come and sit at the same table as us. We politely responded that we don't necessarily want to be sitting at the same table with people we don't know. The waiter replied: “Have you made a reservation? No ! You can therefore leave the table if it does not suit you, other customers will take your place. » What a way to talk to customers…. In short, we stayed and the food was good but the behavior of the waiter needs to be reviewed!
Wir waren zu siebt zum Abendessen im Restaurant Schnabel in Basel, guter Service, tolles Essen , ein rundum gelungener Abend .
Unser Besuch im Schnabel war rundum erfüllend. Die Gerichte waren zünftig zubereitet und wurden mit viel Elan und Charme serviert. Tatare, Lamm, Rösti und Falsche Schnecken schmeckten sehr gut, der Hauswein war ein Genuss. Es ist keine leichte Küche, aber eine tolle Erfahrung für einen Altstadtromantiker.
