Contribuiți la feedbackMy friend and I chose the Obalende because it offers African cuisine as well as other foods, and we were both feeling rather taste-bud-adventurous.Hence, we were quite happy when consulting the menu and finding there strange and dangerous sounding things like "Gekochtes Kuhbein" (literally: boiled cow leg), mashed bread fruit, bitter leaf soup with dried fish, boiled yams and spicy plantain porridge. The cook only arrived at around 6:30, but she instantly made up for her lateness by being genuinely sweet, honeying and sweethearting us right through the choosing and ordering process. My friend decided on the smoked fish with yams, and I was promised a vegetarian version of the rice and stew. The food was to be cooked to the minute, but since chef had to do her own shopping, it took a rather long time to be ready (well over an hour). When it finally did arrive, the helpings were generous and the fare was good (if not extraordinary) but, alas, not quite as exotic as we had hoped for. Quite filling, though, and all in all satisfactory. My friend couldn't finish her meal, so upon clearing the table, the waiter asked her whether she wanted to take it along, which I thought a nice gesture (in many places they will still frown at you for wanting a doggy bag).To cut a long story short, I might go there again one of these days and ask the cook to show a little less restraint this time as far as exotic flavouring and spiciness are concerned.
Nice restaurant, friendly staff. as the name says Bolivia, I expect more Bolivian dishes. Apart from this great food and especially the spare rips, are the best I have eaten in Basel so far! Self made BBQ sauce or Aioli sauce to it: Yummy!
We were in junispar rips eating at the evaluation..Ambiente:The local itself is nicely opened and the furniture for decoration is very true.Lage:The restaurant is easily accessible by the öw (tram 1, station hegenheimerstrasse). acht: there are only quarter parking spaces available, so it is recommended to travel by bicycle or bicycle.Essen:We have ordered the spare rips and were very disappointed. despite pleasant portion, these were very tough and the quality of the meat was left to wish. the two added sauces could not leave this. - the added pommmes were lazy and unfortunately lukewarm. - the appetizer was very good, but unfortunately for the price somewhat too small.Service:Trotz friendliness, the service could not convince. unprofessional talk, for example, about the question whether alcohol-free bee is ugly to get the answer: "This is not a real bee" is simply inappropriate. once you were motorized. At the same time, it is not good to deal with the mobile phone and neglect the guests even though the restaurant was empty. (2 table occupied, 6 people.) - very unpleasant approx. 5x to ask for service.Price service:From my own inadequate. small appetizer with high price, lack of quality at main course.Factory:Beautiful decorated restaurant with poor service and lack of quality at the sparerips. - I won't eat there anymore, as I get much more in this price-class for the money. - nevertheless I hope that the lack of quality of the spare rips was an exception. special: no parking spaces available, recommended to travel with the öw or bicycle.
