Del Mundo - Basel

We stumbled over Del Mundo on our way to find our hostel! From the outside it looked like a nice place to take a coffee if necessary next morning! We decided to break the following day instead!!! The best decision we made on our trip!!! Caffé Latte has never tasted so good!! I had two! Variety of breakfast combinations, pastries, paninis, specialties etc. offer that you will not be disappointed what you want! Help yourself what you want without choosing one! Service was impeccable, but cooled and friendly at the same time! Basel is not cheap, but that was an invoice that I could justify as it simply DELISH!!! Rainy day out and we weren't feeling as if we should go, although Del Mundo is small and cozy!! Fab!!!

Tram #16 brings you to the front door of the Del Mundo Café. It is a corner café with walk-in seat on both sides of the corner. Place your order at the bar and take your place at one of the windows... Counter stools or one of their tables and chairs. They have newspapers, magazines and free Wi-Fi for customers. You probably see several customers working there with their laptops. You have bread, pastries, candy, sandwiches, healthy breakfast options, hot/cold drinks and alcoholic choices. I ordered a soy milk hot chocolate (5CHF) that was served with a small cookie. The hostess was very nice when I visited this popular small café. I enjoyed my visit and the atmosphere, too bad, although the hot chocolate was very week.

Very cozy café with a beautiful backyard/garden to meet friends or just read a book. Selection of delicious cakes and a variety of coffees and drinks. The staff is very nice. Come back here.

Great cafe for lunch, however you will need to pre book to guarantee a table. A different soup of the day znd quiche daily. Worthwhile money

We decided to brunch there instead the following day!!! The best decision we made on...our trip!!! Caffé Latte never tasted so good!! So good I had 2!! Variety of breakfast combinations, pastries, panini’s, specials etc on offer that you won’t be disappointed whatever it is you fancy! Help yourself to whatever condiments you want without having to choose one! Service was impeccable but chilled and friendly at the same time! Basel ain’t cheap but this was one bill I could justify as it was simply DELISH!!! Rainy day outside and we weren’t made to feel like we should leave despite Del Mundo being small and cosy!! Fab!!!
