The Tipsy Trout - BASALT

Once we were seated, it took almost 10 minutes for our server to acknowledge us, and after that, we only saw her to take our orders and bring the check. We had to rely on another staff member for essential service needs, such as bringing our food, refilling our drinks, correcting an order mistake, and even getting condiments. It was clear the restaurant was understaffed, and it was frustrating to see our server walk by empty-handed several times. The quality of the food didn't match the high prices, and the inadequate service only added to our disappointment. While the food wasn’t terrible, charging $12 for a side of sweet potato fries is excessive. As someone who works in the service industry, I understand the challenges faced, but this experience was far below acceptable standards. Regrettably, I cannot recommend this restaurant, and I will not be returning.

This restaurant boasts a fantastic location right by the river. The food was outstanding and reasonably priced for the area. It's a great lunch alternative to Aspen.

This was our second visit, and we absolutely love this restaurant. We enjoy sitting outside by the river, taking in the stunning scenery. The staff is friendly and welcoming, and they pay close attention to our needs. I had the cheeseburger and fries, which was a generous, juicy burger accompanied by plenty of fries—I really enjoyed it. My husband tried the BLAT sandwich, which includes bacon, lettuce, avocado, and tomato, along with sweet potato fries. He found the sandwich to be both delicious and satisfying. If you’re in the Basalt, CO area, make sure to stop by The Tipsy Trout. It's a fantastic local spot!

Nice on the river spot for Happy Hour, Lunch or Dinner. Gather with friends or visitors and enjoy the view. Funky kinda place with eclectic decorations, indoor and outdoor seating with plenty of spots at the bar. A good variety of menu options and service is friendly. We always stop in here when in the area.

Great service and casual place right on the river. Great double sided bar that is open to the outside in the summer. We visited multiple times during our time in Aspen! Great place.
