Balti Cottage - Barking and Dagenham

I spent £50 on a takeout order. The Garlic Chilli Chicken was disappointing, as it was mostly oil and hardly had any chicken. Additionally, my wife's main dish was missing. When I called the restaurant, they said they would send another but did not apologize. The starters were good, but by the time the missing dish arrived, everything was cold. This was supposed to be a special treat for us, as we are not wealthy. It seems like there may be a new chef at the restaurant, as the quality of the food was below average and it was a schoolboy error. I would normally give this place a 4-5 star rating, but not today.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS! Don't sacrifice quality for price! I ordered takeout from this restaurant and immediately regretted it when I saw what was inside the container. Instead of the promised Bombay potatoes, I was faced with a strange dish of melon in an unappetizing orange sauce. The Naan bread was also disappointing - grey and smelly. I didn't bother trying the rest of the food and threw it all away. It's unbelievable that they think it's okay to serve such awful dishes. They should be ashamed of themselves.

I ordered takeout this evening at 7:55 PM. I was told that the delivery would take 45 minutes. After an hour, I called back and was informed that the driver had been given the wrong door number by the staff. They also claimed that they had called my number 10 times with no answer, even though my phone was with me the whole time. I was told that the driver was still on my road and that the food would be arriving soon. Twenty minutes later, I called back again and was told that it would be here soon. As a regular customer who orders at least once a week, I believe I should be treated better. It is now 9:30 PM and I have informed them that I do not want the food on this occasion. It's a real shame, but this is just another example of poor customer service.

Very friendly staff. Food tastes good too. Conveniently located. The buffet is good. Onion bhji was great

Overall friendly staff, the choice of food is minimalistic 16 different types, but within reason of what you expect. The quality of the food is great. Was missing paneer dishes, maybe they are on a ceperate menu. I did the all you can eat sevice.
