Rivasud - BARBERINO DI MUGELLO

Scelto casualmente attraverso Google Maps, è un delizioso ristorante con una distesa all'aperto vicino alla strada principale ma isolato dal traffico. Ottima cucina con una scelta perfetta degli ingredienti a km 0. We chose it randomly through Google Maps. A lovely restaurant with tables laid out in a wonderful garden, close to the main road but isoltaed from noise and traffic. Excellent cuisine with first-choice ingredients from local producers.

Our family of eight adults dined at Rivasud two weeks ago with our very good friends from Florence!! Our dinner, the setting, and the entire staff were absolutely wonderful!! Without question, this was the best dinner we have ever had in Tuscany (we have visited Florence many times over the past five years). Fabio (one of the owners) welcomed us and showed us around his beautiful restaurant. Following the tour, his attentive staff served delicious appetizers, pasta (our favorite was Tortelli di patate al sugo) and the most wonderful Bistecca alla Fiorentina. The presentation of the steak was absolutely beautiful!!! We highly recommend that you visit Fabio and Alessio (the co-owner) during your next visit to Tuscany!!!

Arriving at 7.30pm we felt we would dine alone; within the hour the place was full of mostly local families with children and the occasional family pet. Rivasud continued to be busy for the rest of the night with the helpful, friendly staff dispensing generous local dishes to a garrulous and happy clientele. A range of local cold meats, bruschetta (liver, mushroom and tomato) , arancini, various pasta dishes, mixed grilled meats (chicken, beef, lamb, pork) topped off with tiramisu, pannacotta and semi-freddo made sure our group was fully sated. Most dishes were well prepared and very flavoursome although the meat was a little over-cooked; a minor indiscretion in what was a casual, happy, rustic meal. The house red wine complemented the meal and help keep the company in good spirits. Rivasud is worth seeking out. .

This restaurant is beautiful inside and out. We had a large dinner party with many courses. The food was all impeccable, from pastas to breads to meats, drinks and desserts. Worth the drive for the experience alone.
