We had a wonderful experience! The staff was incredibly friendly and friendly! We went to my cousin's birthday and enjoyed delicious margaritas, empanadas, Yuka-Fritten, Brussels sprouts (the sauce was next stage! tostones, fish tacos, cubano, and chickens fricassee. Everything was incredible! Then in the end we had the lime cake! We definitely come back when we're in Banner Elk!
Where should I start? We stayed here after we toured college for the reviews. Big mistake. We spent almost $100, for 2 -4 inch empanadas filled with mostly vegetables. The fish tacos of my wife had nugget large pieces of fish on them with what looked like Coleslaw. My daughters and my shrimp tacos had 3 shrimps. The Brussels sprouts of my wife were burned and they thought you would immerse them in their spicy Mayo sauce to mask the taste. What a disappointment. My younger two daughters had Cubans who like regular yellow American mustard and white American cheese. The best we ate there was her pommes, but it's hard to screw fries. Well, we would have been better off eating McDonald's in Boone for $50 than wasting our hard-earned money.
We both ordered the Cubans, one with street maize, one with fries. The Cuban was beautiful. The pig was just a little over cooked, but absolutely delicious. No overlaid amount of pimples and mustard combined with some good quality ham. The sandwich was delicious! The frits were hot, crispy and really salted. Mais Street was bright, fresh and tasteful.
This was my first visit to Bodega kitchen. The smell when you walk in is divine. The bathrooms are clean and well stocked with toilet paper. Service was friendly but very slow. Lunch took about an hour. We sat for about 20 minutes before our order was taken. The server did apologize and comped our black bean soup. We also had the vegetable bowl and southwest salad with grilled shrimp. All of the food was delicious. The black bean soup was a generous portion and very good! Both of our main meals were enough food but seemed a small portion for the price. My husband got the beer on tap and he really enjoyed it. With tip our bill was a little over $50. One other little thing is that they use these small glasses for water. Overall will visit again because I hope the slow service was an anomaly.
