Bangor Tavern

This restaurant is much more attractive than typical suburban park pubs. It even has a sidewalk outside! The interior is nice with front and back decks, and the staff is friendly. Surprisingly, the beers are cheaper here than in Sutherland. I didn't eat there because the prices seemed high for pub food, so I can't comment on the quality of the food. It's very unexpected for a pub in a prime location to be so good.

We have been going to Bangor Tavern for a pub meal for a few years, but we will never eat there again. The salmon was only 1cm thick and seemed to come from the tail end of the fish. It was overcooked and dry, served with a small portion of tasteless rice. The dish cost $33, which was a rip-off for the portion size. I even put my fork next to the meal to show how tiny it was.

We had a quick lunch at the restaurant. My wife, who is gluten-free and dairy-free, had the salt and pepper squid while I had the pig dog. The service was quick, the portion sizes were large, and the food was tasty.

Fathers Day lunch was very enjoyable. The menu selection had something for everyone and portion sizes was generous.

Had a lunch on a Sunday with family and was let down by the time it took our food order to come out, 45 minutes for pub food was not acceptable and it was not busy. When we complained to the manager he did offer...to not charge us but we settled on a gift voucher. The food was actually quite good and tasty. We will be going back in the next few months to see if the service has improved, I’m hopeful.
