Contribuiți la feedbackI got some good hearty food here, smoked meats or good chicken breast all with things like potato or dumplings, so they were hearty meals despite the high prices. They did seem rather bland though in comparison to the food I had at Alchemy (it's been a long time since I went to Poland but I remember some things like soups being very flavoursome). For straight up meat and potatoes, places like Tommy's up the road are better value.
The pork loin stuffed with prunes is my favourite! I get it each time I go here, I love it. Cute, cosy restaurant with traditional Polish decor (and lots of interesting little things on display to look at). It is very small and unfortunately the tables are way too close together (that is my only complaint).
(Possible real rating: 3.5/5)<br/ <br/ A mate of mine suggested Polish one cold night. So I thought, why not! So in the middle of October, admittedly it was 16 degrees celsius, we went.<br/ <br/ The interior was so typical Polish countryside! Love it! Service was prompt, friendly but lacking real professionalism. Not that it matters to me!<br/ <br/ We had to ask for the drinks menu, oh dear, as it wasn't given to us first. They ran out of mead or honey wine. It such a big shame as mead is important to Polish cuisine. So I settled for the mulled wine, which was perfectly suited to the weather!<br/ <br/ I decided to get soup to start on with. I got Flaczki; a traditional Polish tripe soup! Hands down, my favourite dish of the night! Tripe was generous and the broth was spiced wonderfully! <br/ <br/ Next up, Bigos! The national dish of Poland! Ok my mate got it and he liked it. I got the duck. It was half a duck! What the duck!!! Came with kopytka (a potato gnocchi like thing), Kapusta (stewed red cabbage sauerkraut) and a side salad. I finished it! Don't judge! Was good but skin wasn't roasted to a crisp.<br/ <br/ Although I should of stop, I decided to have Nalesnik; a crepe filled with plum jam served with ice cream on the side for some reason. Hey it worked!<br/ <br/ I would probably recommend it to others who want to try something out of the blue. Polish cuisine is not very popular. Or those who wants a decent feed! I might go back and maybe try the Bigos. Hopefully they'll have have mead in stock!
+3 standard starting points for food<br/ +1 differently delicious!<br/ 4. a must try. <br/ <br/ Food:<br/ Overall, it tastes and feels very homey. Everything is comforting, filling and super tasty. I adore the opportunity to experience a different place through their food, and this was such a good example of that. Especially loved the sauerkraut, dill, and smoked meats.<br/ <br/ Bigos (A traditional polish stew of sauerkraut and smoked meats, served with potatoes flavoured with dill. The stew was super punchy and warm, with satisfying chunks of the smoked meat. The potatoes were well seasoned and paired very well with the strong flavour of the stew. Highly recommended.<br/ <br/ Pierogi (Dumplings! We had them fried and as an entree. They were delicious, but I expected them to be just a little bigger considering the price. Bacon was salty and the onions were so sweet. Dumplings themselves were well seasoned and meaty. Who doesn’t love dumplings?!<br/ <br/ Placki (Potato pancakes with mushroom sauce and sour cream the pancakes were super crispy on both sides, and not just around the edges! When you add the creamy mushroom sauce or the fluffy sour cream it really makes the potatoes sing.<br/ <br/ Will go back to try the beetroot soup and the flaming caramel dessert.<br/ <br/ Staff are very friendly and the decor feels homey and comfortable.<br/ $60 for two (included a drink A little on the pricey side but definitely well worth it.<br/ Noise level: quiet to normal<br/ #polish #authentic #friendly
Traditional barn house interior that looks straight out of Poland. The staff are extremely friendly and all speak Polish.<br/ <br/ The food is traditional, rich and delicious. expect lots of carbs and lard.
