Contribuiți la feedbackWhat a great place to visit after a stoll around Ballycotton with our dog...we were delighted to be able to bring Maxi in and at the same time enjoy a fabulous lunch...service was fantastic i must say at the bar and at the seperate food truck....quality was there in the food and also not overly expensive...have to say loved the family feel to thus place where all the family are welcome !!!
We had a birthday celebration here in July what a great afternoon/night we had, the service, food music was just fantastic. A big thank you to Mossy, Jim, Oscar all of the team we can't forget the great music by James McGrath. Thank you all so much...
Great spot for a fun night out and some really tasty food from the Trawler Boyz. There's a great atmosphere, the staff are really friendly and they serve a VERY good Guinness. In case you're interested, I'd rate their pint of Guinness top 5 in Ireland. I'm a fan of the black stuff so like to keep score.
Just had the most wonderful experience in theBlackbird this evening. After a stroll in the local area and Garryvoe area I called in for a quick dinner. I got the chance to catch dinner in the lovely ‘fields kitchen’ at the back of the blackbird. It was so refreshing to find a dog friendly pub, with such a calm and relaxing atmosphere. We (myself and the dog! had the option of dining inside or outside and there was about 6-7 other perfect pooches enjoying a day out with their owners. I had the fish and chips from the food truck in the back. I wasn’t sure of my options being coeliac, but they kindly made me a fresh pan fried fish and chips with a side salad. It was delicious and so fresh. They had water bowls available around the pub and outdoor areas. We met a lovely local dog called Misty and couldn’t recommend the experience enough. I will definitely be back to this quaint and idyllic place.
Visited the Blackbird pub and Field Kitchen for lunch. It’s advertised as dog friendly which is a bonus. Pub itself is cute and the young staff were friendly. Sat out back, got a menu. The “ restaurant is basically a food truck. Tempura prawns were on menu so I asked how many came in a serving. Woman in truck said we don’t have prawns today. so maybe don’t have them on the menu then….. . Bit of a shame as ballycotton is known for its seafood. We ordered chicken fillet and chips. MIL had fish and chips. They were served in polystyrene cartons and food was average at best. So very disappointing. It’s chipper food but much more expensive. 13.50 for fish and chips. 8.50 for the chicken burger and chips were 3.50. Don’t know if we caught them on a bad day but not at all friendly in the food section. Kinda felt like the woman in the food truck didn’t want to be there. On the dog friendly side, no offer of water for the dog which is always a nice touch. They could definitely do more with this place. Put on some music to create an atmosphere and get friendlier staff again pub staff were nice, food ppl not so much the food part is a separate “ business” so you pay separately for drinks and food. At least now I know to pass on the food if there ever is a next time …..
