North Ballarat Sports Club

The venue was quiet by the time that we got there. I applied for membership first. Woman in reception OK, but very slow. Young man serving nice. A dispute behind us upset my partner. Food great value: enough for us, although steak was more cooked than medium rare. We both had senior meals. Plenty of food for us. I found that the 2 drinks were expensive and not sure I got a member's discount. I found that the chocolate desert that was $14, but as a member I paid $11 was far too expensive.

Place was empty when we arrived. Had not been before, no direction of where to order or if we get up to order or if someone comes to table. When we wanted a drink there was no staff behind the bar, and then when we eventually got drinks the gas tap for the beer wasn’t working properly. Very awkward and uncomfortable vibe, contemplated leaving quite a few times. Meal wasn’t too bad, and was fairly quick but probably due to barely anyone being there. Was a torn experience when receiving meals.. was a happy demeanour but hot plates were handed over my baby which I wasn’t too thrilled about. Heap of very old very sick looking people walking through to bingo.. bit like being in a walking dead scene! Won’t be back, bad outweighed the good. The place has the potential to be great but very far from meeting that unfortunately. Also parents room was about the size of 2 tables so felt very claustrophobic having to manouver pram in there. Thumbs down from us.

Awesome as always, staff are lovely and food is amazing every time

We go to NBSC regularly for a seniors meal or a special menu lunch. It’s always very good and we will keep returning.

I would recommend north Ballarat sports club because the staff are all very friendly every time we go there, atmosphere is pleasant and looking out over the oval on a beautiful evening is peaceful. Food is good also. On Friday night Mary makes the draws a bit of fun,
