Mcdonald's Family Restaurants - Ayr

I havent been to Franks for a long time after moving away from Townsville.

This McDonalds is chaos - went through drive through to get a coffee and they have to "park" me and make me wait - what the - ain't this FAST food drive through - NEVER AGAIN DO NOT VISIT THIS STORE

Registers down, barista was rude, left very upset. No one working there explained what was going on. People were sitting down eating, but there were 4 electricity workers waiting longer than we waited which was 25 minutes. Barista was serving people at her counter but not charging them for anything she gave them. She said her register should be coming up within two minutes, but it never did. When I challenged her about serving people who cam in after us she denied it, even though the cup of coffee was sitting on the counter for a man who came in after us. She was so rude I couldn't believe she was allowed to work in customer service. It was more important for her to serve people she seemed to know than people who had been waiting quite a long time. We were so upset and disgusted because we had three children with us and we were counting on a FAST FOOD restaurant be FAST! We asked the four men ahead of us if they had been served yet and they said no, no one is even talking to them. This McDonalds was far enough away from the cyclone, they shouldn't of had any problems serving food. The barista was an older woman who didn't seem to care about any other customers except the ones she recognised. We were there at 7am on Wednesday 5 April 2017 and after driving since 5am we were counting on McDonalds to be what it is at any other McDonalds you go to. You could not expect anything from this location except rudeness, being ignored and a dirty restaurant. In addition, the restrooms were dirty, the play area was locked and there were a lot of people walking around the kitchen area but nothing seemed to be happening. The drive through seemed to be moving. Seems anyone who didn't know the staff did not get served.

I used to take my two boys here when they were small - when Paul Rissman had just taken over as franchisee. Back then he was all over things. The place was spotless, food was quick and great. Fast forward about 10-15 years and the place is atrocious. Most staff are ok, although some could learn how to smile and interact with customers a little more. Cleanliness leaves much to be desired and food is sometimes inedible. Paul has since acquired more franchises in Townsville so I guess he doesn't care about the Burdekin anymore. Sad really. Can't remember the last time I was here...we utilise one of the other take-away places when we're in a hurry.

Coffee was Luke warm. There was rubbish outside. The playground equipment was very dirty. The staff did not smile.
