Aulds Cove Big Stop

The portion size of the haddock was quite small for $17.00; it felt like we were mainly paying for the fries. We travel a lot and have enjoyed many restaurants with generous portions, but Auld's Cove has been the least satisfying experience we've had.

During the main COVID outbreak, we were very cautious about where we went. After two years, we finally decided to venture out and chose the Big Stop in Aulds Cove. We observed their diligent cleaning of tables and seats, followed by placing signs to indicate that the cleaning was completed. They also made sure to wait the required time before seating new customers, regardless of the long line. It was a daunting experience for everyone, but it was comforting to know that they took the necessary time to keep things clean. The food and service have always been great, and if there's ever an issue—like a dish being cold or missing gravy—people speak up, and the staff quickly addresses it. I personally appreciate getting good value for our money and recognize the risks the employees have taken during the pandemic and with other illnesses while serving customers. Thank you to the staff at Big Stop!

I ordered two turkey dinners, and unfortunately, they didn’t meet my expectations, especially considering the price. I wish I had remembered to take a photo of the meal. The rolls served with it were completely dry, so I ended up discarding them. The mixed vegetables seemed to be frozen, comprising just carrots and green beans. On a positive note, the staff were incredibly friendly, and the restaurant was bustling with activity, which is a good sign. I think I’ll try something different on my next visit. As for vegetarian options and dietary restrictions, they are quite limited.
