The Royal Peasant - Athens

AMAZING meal!!! Dare I say my new favorite restaurant in Athens?!?! It was like taking a lunch on vacation in England! So much fun all the food was just perfect! I can't recommend this gem enough! The crisps onion rings are so good!

A true British style pub with Indian infused dishes. Outdoor seating in good weather or indoor seating during poor weather is highly recommended. Any choice on the menu will not disappoint. Pair your meal with any choice of a rotating tap or cocktail. If you haven?t yet, make this your new go to spot.

I ordered the lamb kati roll and was told it’s the equivalent of a gyro. It is not. The lamb was basically cooked in a slower cooker (zero seasoning or flavor), wrapped in an overcooked pita (I mean tough to chew), and then garnished with plain yogurt and some lettuce. Not worth the $20 with tip. Mg coworker, however, did enjoy the fish and chips she ordered.

It is easy to lose a client and it takes effort to make him come back. Just imagine how many people will listen to my experience and never come! Walked by so many times and finally decided to try for a special event in our family. Since I am new to the place, when ordering for four people I asked what some items on menu were. The waitress didn’t even want to spend time to help me order. You could read her facial expressions well. She told me to google it. Can you imagine? I even checked their website before asking. Which I explained to her. She turned her back on us. That was rude! What else visitors should do before they come?! Cook for themselves?! Bring own plates? If management doesn’t care about service, what else they do bad in that place?

What a cool and unique spot. The aesthetic, beer/food selection, and welcoming air just suck you right in. This may be the best pub food I've had in quite some time, and the blue cheese put every other blue cheese to shame. The staff was willing to put on an NWSL game for us (though it was rain delayed, so we were never able to watch it), even in light of some trouble getting the stream up and running (sorry about that, by the way). We'll definitely be returning here for some games, high-quality beer/food, and a singular atmosphere. I highly recommend you check it out if you're in town.
