Fitz + Potts - Ascot

The first thing you will notice as you walk into Fitz Potts is its total retro decor. It reminds me of my nans house! I enjoyed (prob to much) the variety of amazing craft beers while sitting out on the balcony watching the world go by. The food was really nice, and even though Im not vegan or even vegetarian the burgers were delicious! The staff where great being all to happy to help out recommending many of the craft beers on tap, organic wines or cocktails. The atmosphere was really nice also with young and old all relaxing and enjoying themselves, with no riff raff. Highly recommend this place!

Came in for a drink by myself and it was lovely! The staff were all great and really friendly. The wine was delicious and there was such a buzz about the place. I sat outside in the sun and it was very relaxing. Cannot wait to return to try some of the food!

We thought we'd give this place another go. Our first impression earlier in the year was not the best, but we have given it some time and it has improved significantly. The bar staff were considerate and helpful, they were very knowledgeable in the spirits that were used or could be used in the drinks we ordered. We also had some dumplings which were filling and tasty even though it was a starter. Music and atmosphere was cheerful and a good vibe. Overall a much better visit than our initial one. Thanks for a good evening.

There’s a reason this bar has been voted the best in Brisbane. It eclectic a layout that just works well. A must visit. There has been rumours of a developer knocking the building down. A real shame for one,of the best places in Brisbane

We went to Fitz and pots on the weekend, and I have to say, I wasn't impressed.. all these raving reviews from friends and family and online what happened? It was st Patrick's Day and there wasn't anything festive going on, not even the music was Irish or enjoyable, some chillout, wanna kill myself type music, which came in and out, better get those speakers fixed. Also, the waitress/bar staff was so dull and obviously bored, she clearly had other things on her mind and didn't want to be there, she didn't help us choose at all even when we said we'd never been there before and wasn't sure how the menu worked. The cheese platter we got was minimal and no one bothered to tell us what the specific cheeses were. It was a blue, cheddar and Bree or camembert.. something from a Woolworths pack based on the quantity and quality probably, but instead we got a handful of biscuits and paid $20 for it. Overall I would not recommend this place as the pub and any other restaurant/bar in the street is much better quality in all categories. I'm also disappointed as I had heard such great things about this place and had a very poor experience. I don't like writing bad reviews, but felt this needed to be said how else can they improve without feedback.
