Tryst Restaurant - Arlington

We had a great dining experience at Tryst. The staff, including only two people manning the bar and restaurant, were friendly and accommodating. Ash in particular was very helpful. They were able to cater to my allergies without any issues. The view from the large glass windows overlooking the gardens across the street was lovely. Our meals were delicious as well. I enjoyed the kale/brussel sprout salad with lemon chicken, while my friend had the shrimp taco appetizer and a brussel sprout dish. The portion sizes were generous. Thank you, Tryst!

The food at this restaurant was good, but the service left something to be desired. We had to wait a long time for our cocktails, and our waiter never returned with the water or lemon we requested. We also asked for an additional plate to share our salad, but it was never brought to us, so we ended up sharing from the same plate. We mentioned that we were in a hurry because we had a show to catch at the Regent theater at 8 pm, but we still had to wait a long time for the check. Eventually, we had to ask a manager to process our credit card as we needed to leave. The restaurant was not full, so it seems like there may have been a training issue for the waitstaff to pay more attention to customer requests and provide better service.

Sunday brunch. Food was good. Service very attentive and friendly.

Overall disappointing, coffee was lukewarm, salt shaker empty, burger was not cooked (raw instead of rare) Server was kind, helpful, and in good spirits as she tried to mitigate the poor performance. We've eaten here before, and know they can do better.

We ate the duck ragu special, swordfish special, tagliatelle bolognese, and crispy pork schnitzel with sides of brussel sprouts and broccoli rabe. Everything was outstanding, except for the pork dish that was good but could use more seasoning. Drinks were very good as well. Deserts were the bread pudding and carrot cake. All excellent. I really like coming to Tryst because nearly everything on the menu is very, very good and there's something for everyone. The atmosphere is relaxed yet the staff are professional and efficient.
