Contribuiți la feedbackJonathan's Table was an awesome place for dinner......the staff was friendly, the atmosphere had such a nice ambiance and was conducive to conversation, and the food was delicious.....three different dishes..... Prime Rib, Mediterranean Pasta, and Seafood Pasta..... and three very happy campers when dinner was done...... we were even lucky enough to chat with the Chef a bit....a very personable man ,,,, We will definitely be returning and recommending this restaurant to family and friends. What a lovely experience last weekend...albeit last minute. We were hanging out with friends in Manchester and as we were getting ready to drive home, one of them made us a reservation at Jonathon 's Table. We had learned about this nestled behind the sugar shack farm to table restaurant last year and have been curious about it since. It wasn 't too busy for a Saturday night during mud season, so a reservation wasn 't necessary...but I 'm guessing that once the weather is better and more tourists are around, reservations will be recommended. The decor is country kitch and the lighting was low. Our server was super friendly and fun to talk to. The only glitches that we experienced were that the main courses took a rather long time to arrive and my salmon was a bit over cooked (I had ordered it rare). Still...the food was very good. We started by sharing the lobster ravioli appetizer. Uber rich with generous pieces of lobster inside each oversized ravioli. The complimentary bread is right up my alley...served warm/perfectly baked on a platter as a whole loaf. Sadly, I 'm a big bread fan. I could have eaten the whole thing and was offered another (which I declined...because....again...I would have/could have wolfed the whole thing down myself). The salads were very good crisp and fresh with just enough dressing. The prime rib received rave reviews and while my salmon was dry in the middle, it was still very tasty. I loved the accompanying wild rice served al dente with a light, nutty flavor. We ordered desserts to go: carrot cake and chocolate ganache cake. I worked on that ganache cake throughout the week; literally had a few small bites every night...it was super decadent. I tasted the carrot cake and it was delicious. Overall: very enjoyable.
Everyone seems to rave about this restaurant. We thought our meals were decent, probably will not go back. My husband ordered filet mignon, I had salmon. My sister in laws had a chicken dish that was undercooked and eggplant parm. We ate there for dinner when we were visiting Manchester for Columbus Day weekend. the restaurant wasnt busy at all on a saturday night. The staff was very nice. The owners (chef) of the restaurant recently sold it to the current owners. From reading the reviews I was looking forward to the coconut cheesecake for dessert, however Jonathon took that recipe with him.
I don't want to bash Jonathon's Table or lay into them with extreme language or interpretation. Lovely little restaurant and fine people working there. But thats honestly about where the review stops. Other than the bread served with dinner there is nothing...and I mean absolutely nothing exceptional, ambitious, noteworthy or memorable about a meal at JT's. The menu is limited and basic. The presentation of the dishes was basic. The overall flavor spectrum was basic. I am totally and completely amazed at the overall rave reviews here on TA. This place is a 3/5 at best IMO. We had a salmon dish finished with a maple glaze and a grilled swordfish. Both dishes tasted....perfectly fine of good quality....and thats it! End of the day you're paying way too much for basic good nicely prepared and utterly non impactful meals. We didnt have dessert, they presentation looked pretty nice so I'd venture the desserts might be the bomb but again I cant attest.
I have to visit this restaurant every time I visit Vermont. I have never had a better prime rib. EVERYTHING is homemade, down to the delicious, creamy homemade bleu cheese dressing! I had squash as a side to the prime rib and it totally soaked up the meat flavor. Ponytailed Steve is the best waiter. He's fun and has spot-on suggestions. I can't stop thinking about this place. Cozy, casual, and welcoming. I'll be back, again and again!
