Domstuebli - Arlesheim

Nice restaurant with a good day menu. It consisted of a choice between soup or salad as a starter and a main dish if meat or fish and desert after. The restaurant looks really nice, it has an authentic atmosphere.

Not sure where to start with this review, but here we go. The location, setting and atmosphere of the restaurant is lovely. I liked it a lot, its a cosy, warm stubli style restaurant, so not overly formal which I like. The waiter who I believe was the owner, though I can 't be sure was pleasant enough and welcomed us. This gentleman is definitly the boss. We were offered drinks which were fine and then we went through the menu. It was suggested that we share a selection of starters rather than order one each, we thought that was a great idea so agreed. The starters were big...they were very tasty I have to say, but to be honest, I can eat a lot but after the starters we were all full and could have just had a coffee and left. but instead we then had our previously ordered main courses. They were good sized portions, some were quite tasty but I had the pasta with what was described as strong cheese sauce and a little rocket I think. My issue was the the sauce was bland and so mild that I wondered what the 'normal ' sauce would taste like had it been offered because my strong sauce was pretty tasteless. Others were happy with thier own dishes but I just need to be honest in my opinion about what I particularly ordered. The main issue I have here is not the fact that the starters.......which were suggested or sold to us.....were so big that it left us not enjoying our main courses and more importantly when the bill came I was shocked to see just how much it cost. the ingredients and dishes were simple........agreed, maybe not simple to make.........but as natural ingredients not so expensive..........we didn 't have fresh crayfish, lobster or wagu beef........but that is what I would have expected when looking at the bill. It left me feeling slightly ripped off, which is a shame because this place could be wonderful. I wouldn 't go again because of the cost. The meal we had just didn 't warrant that fee.

Starter Cozze in tomato sauce: more empty shells than mussels Sauce was good. Orechiette with cime di rappa tasteless, lasagna Pugliese style was ok. , nice ambience and courteous service.

Wir begannen mit Insalata di mare: Ausgezeichnet! Danach einerseits die Fegato al burro mit Risotto: Sehr gut! und eine Lasagne riccia: hier dürfte der Fleischanteil etwas grösser sein. Die abschliessende Zabaione: Wunderbar! Dies alles serviert von freundlichem und unaufdringlichem Personal. Wir freuen uns schon jetzt auf einen weiteren Besuch auf der gemütlichen Terrasse des Domstüblis!

Gute und freundliche Bedienung das Essen war sehr lecker kann ich weiterempfehlen
