We started with the filet carpaccio appetizer, which was decent but not extraordinary. Unfortunately, this was the highlight of our meal. Given our initial hesitation about ordering steaks, we decided instead to try the ribs. These were offered in two sauce varieties, but both were disappointing. The ribs tasted as if they had merely been boiled and were only placed over the fire long enough to scorch the ends. They were slathered in sauce, but the meat itself was tasteless and didn’t have the tenderness we expect from properly cooked ribs. The first sauce, a mustard-based option, was overly thick, unlike most we’ve had. The second sauce, labeled A5, was not suitable for pork at all. It had a pronounced Worcestershire flavor but lacked the necessary sweetness to balance it out. Overall, both sauces were too overpowering and did little to enhance the blandness of the ribs. As for the sides, the cole slaw was unappealing due to a strong vinegar smell, while the cornbread was the standout item on the plate. However, it resembled a combination of Jiffy Mix and vanilla cake mix—extremely sweet with a cake-like texture. Throughout our meal, we found ourselves waiting several minutes without water on multiple occasions, and our server only returned once after delivering our food. When he did ask for our thoughts about the meal, my wife candidly expressed her dissatisfaction with the first rib, after which he promptly vanished and never returned until we eventually had to request our check from another server. While there may be better options on the menu, we didn't experience them. We ended up spending over $100 on a meal we did not enjoy, and that was without drinks. If we had ordered cocktails, the total could have approached $200 or even $300 if we had tried to enjoy the food! The meal was priced at over $100 per person, which set my expectations relatively high. Unfortunately, the food was rather disappointing and only earned a rating of 3 out of 5. While the dishes were adequately presented, they simply lacked the flavor and creativity I was hoping for. On a brighter note, the service was outstanding, receiving a perfect 5 out of 5. The staff was attentive, friendly, and really went above and beyond to ensure we had a pleasant dining experience. The atmosphere was pleasant but not particularly remarkable, rating a 3 out of 5. It felt a bit average and didn’t quite match the upscale price point. In summary, while I appreciated the excellent service, the food didn’t meet my expectations for the price, and the atmosphere could use some enhancement.
