Jersey Mike's Subs - Ankeny

This restaurant is a great spot for grabbing a sandwich. The food was tasty, though I did have to wait quite a while after placing my order before it arrived. I ordered the Chipotle Chicken Sandwich, and it was flavorful with generous portions. Compared to other fast-casual sandwich chains, I have to say this one stands out as one of the better options I've experienced.

We like Jersey Mikes and have eaten at a few but the Ankeny location isn’t worth the time. There were essentially 3 staff doing the job of one person and they were more interested in talking than getting the orders out so we stood there and watched three girls have a conversation about something unimportant when only one was actually doing something at a time. The drink machine was out of ice and multiple drinks were out of syrup and the girls didn’t know how to replace it so they just kept sticking receipt paper over each one as people mentioned it wasn’t working. The tables were dirty and it took longer to watch them make the sandwich than it took to eat it. I’ll stick with other locations going forward.

I won’t be returning to this location or recommending it to anyone. Although I was aware of the high prices, paying over $50 for three sandwiches warranted better service. We waited over 20 minutes for our order, and there was only one other family of three that came in after us and left before we did. The place was mostly empty, so it wasn't as if they were overwhelmed. Come on, Jersey Mike's, you can do better!

The food was overpriced and mediocre. I paid $18 for a large cheesesteak, and it just wasn't worth it.
