Everyone seated at the same time, an aperitif, hot mini baguette with fresh cheese and olives, wine, water, parrot fish with salad, chicken dish, strawberry cheesecake, and a fine port wine. In between all these lovely courses we were entertained by two fado singers and three musicians. So there was no chatter at the tables, no clanging of cutlery. The servers were excellent, you were never without water or wine and the plates were served and removed courteously. Top of my list.
We only had breakfasts in the restaurant, while staying at the hotel nothing special. We didn't try out evening meal, but it seemed very quiet.
After an overnight flight from Boston with little to no sleep and then a stroll thru town while the room became available it was a pleasure to find that the hotel restaurant was open for lunch. I had a sausage and cheese pizza and my wif had a pasta bolognese. Both were were generate in size and very reasonably priced.
The restaurant at Pousada S. Sebastiao is well worthy of a visit. The staff are helpful and the food is good
As well as appetizers as main courses as desserts were all delicious. As appetizers we ate mussels with Portugese lapas sauce and Atlantic chub (fish). Great taste! As main course we had chicken filled with plums and Alcatra slow cooked beef. Both we should choose again. Very tasteful. Also the desserts were delightful. We really liked the personal touch of the attentive service.
