I like the display of shotglasses in the front also. It makes me get the sense that this place possibly get very busy in the evenings. Their menu is very basic. I wasn't too impressed with their sushi options. We did end up ordering the Serious Jamie of all the rolls. It was alright, nothing too memorable about the roll. They serve you miso soup and a sweetened ginger sesame salad before you receive your food. I thought this was very nice. Soup was expected, but the salad was swimming in dressing, almost overwhelming. I liked the gesture yet, the salad wasn't enjoyable. The service was great, all our waiters and waitresses were delightful.
Ambiance menu variety portions Ambiance: the ambiance is pretty impressive. When we first pulled up, I didn't have high expectations for the inside, but the inside and the outside are completely different, so this is the classic example of do not judge a book by its cover. It's a great spot for an upper middle price point date or gathering for friends. Menu variety: the menu had a great variety, from sushi to chicken to vegan options. The restaurant can serve anyone in a group that has different taste pallets. Also, the chef is willing to change the stock sushi rolls. Typically, there's no upcharge for those changes. So, feel free to work with your server or the chef to find a meal for you. Portions: The price point of portions ratio is pretty good at this place. I had a standard roll of salmon. I came with six sushi rolls, and in addition, I got an order of orange chicken to go. The orange chicken was massive, and the six rolls were pretty substantial too, and overall, the price, given again, that you're in Alaska, was not prohibitive, actually very reasonable. Pro tip: tons of parking
If you're a sushi enthusiasts this is the place for yah!they have menu filled with creative and delicious options such as the Kodiak and Kamikaze rolls, tuna sashimi, and a variety of oysters and oh their flavorful miso soup and ginger salad. Superb quality of both food and service justifies the cost It's a good choice for both casual dinners and special occasions. Anddddd I'm not yet done they offer vegetarian options and accommodates special events.
Ambiance was very nice, dim lit with house music playing most my dinner. My family and I got Gyoza, tempura plate, unagi, samurai roll, yakisoba and fried rice. Very good dinner! The only thing is the fried rice was a little too soft and gooey but overall great flavor! Would go again and try something new
The new location is beautiful inside and a step up from the previous spot. It has an even more classy vibe. It is open only for dinner hours which keeps me from enjoying it more often. Prices everywhere are up, but they deliver with a warm, rewarding experience. They have both warm and cold options in a menu that is succinct enough to help you narrow down the dishes to your tastes. The presentation is spot on, which of course is particularly important for a sushi spot. Hoping they have a good run in their new location.
