Spicewood Restaurant Bar - Alpine

This restaurant serves the best food you can find in Alpine. You might be surprised by the incredible experience awaiting you inside this unassuming metal building, which you reach by driving through a gravel parking lot. The food is exceptionally fresh and of the highest quality. The watermelon and strawberry salad is large and incredibly refreshing, while the catfish plate is arguably the best I’ve ever tasted. The pork chops were perfectly tender, and the sauce drizzled on top had flavors reminiscent of German cuisine. Inside, the decor is stunning, and the staff is outstanding. The outdoor atmosphere makes it feel like you're on a vacation getaway. If you can, make reservations as they are only open for lunch and dinner from Wednesday to Sunday. My only regret is not going back for more or trying their adult beverages. It truly is a slice of heaven in the middle of nowhere. Just a heads up, the parking lot is gravel, so be cautious if you’re on a bike.

We absolutely love Spicewood! The food is consistently excellent. Be sure to try the Prickly in Pink from the bar; it has become my new favorite drink. Our server, Taylor, was fantastic!

Spicewood is consistently fantastic. We were in town visiting and took my best friend there to celebrate her birthday. She had an amazing time. Our server, Sharon, did a wonderful job. Thank you!

Walked in on a spur of the moment trip down from Dallas. The hostess was VERY pleasant and personable. The atmosphere I this place was fantastic. We were almost intimidated. As we just drove 9 hours, we felt like we were under dressed but once we sat, our server made us feel right at home. He was nicely attentive and made sure we always had a full drink and even made some fantastic recommendations. The food was amazing. The view out the back was pretty great too. Will definitely be coming back to try more foods and the bar area next time we're in town.

Just ate here with some co workers (Party of 9) on a company trip. The food was good as always as we’ve been here many times before (we had a reservation at 615 pm). The entity that we work for requires we pay individually however once we expressed that it would be separate checks they said we could only separate up to 4 checks. They then said they could do it this time, but would let the hostess know to tell large parties this beforehand. The server proceeded to take our orders and seemed annoyed at that. We enjoyed our meal and out came the checks. We usually ask for gratuity to be removed and most definitely tip well as the entity will only pay for food or drinks and not a tip for service provided. With that said, they left the gratuity on there and that was the end of it. I guess we won’t be returning here because of the new policy for large parties and the lack of servers wanting to do their job. Definitely wanted to speak with management, but decided to not bother. We’ll be taking our business elsewhere.
