El Barco - Almuñécar

Disappointed, we have been here a lot of times in the past years. Now, we were really disappointed about the food. In the mixted paella, you had to search for some meat and seafood. The portion of almejas was also very limited. They didn’t even ask if we would like dessert or coffee. The sitting and environment was of course ok.

Perfect attentive service and great food. Well presented good quality ingredients. Set in the best marina on the costa del sol.

Lovely location with outside tables on the side of the small marina. Twisty drive to get there but well worth it. Friendly service great paella with a lovely white Rioca

Four of us stopped off after a walk in the local area. I love restaurants beside a marina and they are in fairly short supply in this part of the coastline. It’s a fairly small marina but very clean, plenty of parking and we had a great lunch here. My friend had been before and knew they did a menu del dia which you would not know as it didn’t seem to be advertised however it’s the best menu del dia I have had in a long time. Choice of tomato soup or tuna salad and for the main numerous choices of chicken or pork with various sauces, three types of fish, I had the rosada and we had coffee to finish. The food was delicious, nice aperitivos to start, soup was amazing and my fish was lovely, served with asparagus and fries. Our waiter was really nice, he seemed a bit standoffish at first but once we got chatting he was really nice and helpful and was busy feeding some rather large fish in the marina the bread we didn’t use. The menu del dia was about £15 each and I would go back tomorrow I liked it that much, the location does make it feel that bit more special though.
