Porto Finos - Allerdale

We wanted to eat somewhere in cockermouth. we saw how highly rated portofinos was and decided to book. wow! they were very courteous, service was excellent and friendly and the eating was beautiful. we were a party of eight and all the dishes were...fantastic hot, came close together and were delicious. could not recommend!

We arrived in Cockermouth in the late evening for a walk and hadn't made a reservation for dinner. After quickly scanning the menu to accommodate my vegan partner (who enjoyed a delicious risotto), we were pleasantly surprised by the prompt service and tasty, freshly prepared food. Sharon, our server, had a fantastic sense of humor, was very welcoming, and just the right amount of quirky. We highly recommend making a reservation in advance to ensure you don't miss out on this place.

After taking a quick stroll around town, we came across this restaurant which had received some good reviews online. Luckily, we were able to snag a table for two with short notice. My partner ordered the jerk chicken kebab followed by lasagna and was delighted with both dishes, especially noting that the lasagna was the best she had ever had. I opted for mussels followed by plaice, both of which were delicious. Sharon, the owner, informed us that they had been closed for an extended period due to a family member's illness. Based on our experience, it seems like Portofinos has a promising future ahead. Thank you so much.
