Tok Thai Food - Ak

I've been a loyal customer since they first opened and have always enjoyed their dishes. However, I've noticed a decline in quality over time. I usually order the Chicken Green Curry, which used to come with plenty of vegetables. During my last visit, though, there were hardly any veggies, the portion sizes had decreased, the prices had gone up, and the fresh taste seemed to be gone. I genuinely hope they can bring back the quality they had when they first started. It's clear to see the difference between fresh ingredients and cheaper substitutes. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that this was just a one-time issue!

I was so hungry that I forgot to take a picture of my food (I ordered noodles). I was impressed to find traditional dishes like papaya salad and larb on the menu, as they’re not commonly offered in many Thai restaurants. Overall, it turned out to be a fantastic spot—definitely exceeded my expectations for lunch in such a secluded location!

The Thai food here is surprisingly impressive for a restaurant in the Interior. While it is a bit pricey, that’s to be anticipated in this region. They serve excellent freak rolls, which consist of six whole rolls cut in half, totaling twelve pieces, and a tasty yellow chicken curry loaded with vegetables. I did find the curry a bit sweeter than I prefer and felt it could use a few more vegetables, but it was still quite delicious. Just a heads-up: they only accept cash and offer takeout, unless you're okay with dining in a mosquito-filled parking lot with heavy traffic.

Apart from the street vendors in Bangkok, this is the best Thai food I've ever had. I always make sure to stop here whenever I'm in Glennallen.

My husband, daughter, and I were on our way back from a fishing trip in Chitnia when we decided to stop at Tok Thai. We ordered three vegetable tofu dishes, and it was truly disappointing! My plate had nothing but vegetables, while my husband and daughter each got just one small piece of tofu. I had a negative experience there a year ago, but I thought I would give the place another try, hoping it would be better this time. Unfortunately, it was just as unsatisfying as before. I can’t recommend this restaurant to anyone.
