Kin Thai is my personal favourite Thai restaurant in Adelaide. This family owned restaurant consistently deliver high quality Thai dishes, at a reasonable price. It is not like other main stream Thai restaurants: most dishes are slightly sweeter to balance out the strong flavour of spice and herbs. Tong Yum Lava Omelette is a sensational rice dish that you can absolutely cannot find else where, at least in Adelaide. Pad thai and kra pao gai are delicious too. Staff are nice and always happy to help.
Some of my best food discoveries have been completely accidental and Kin Thai is definitely one of them!<br/ <br/ Food Drink <br/ The menu features a around 30 dishes including salads, soups, curries, rice and noodle dishes.<br/ <br/ We ordered the Kana moo krob and Pad Prik Kang.<br/ <br/ The Kana moo krob is a stir fried crispy pork belly with Chinese broccoli on rice. I absolutely loved this dish! I only wished the serving were larger as I didn't want to stop eating this.<br/ <br/ The second dish was the Pad Prik Kang which is a stir fried chicken, vegetables with red curry paste. It is served with rice and half cut boiled a egg. I opted for the mildly spicy. I really enjoyed this!<br/ <br/ Food rating: 09/10<br/ _________________________________________________________________________________________<br/ <br/ Value and pricing <br/ All the mains were under $16.90 each with each serving to be of excellent quality and generous servings.<br/ <br/ Value and pricing rating: 9/10<br/ <br/ _________________________________________________________________________________________<br/ <br/ Venue and Experience <br/ <br/ Located on the far western side of Weymouth Street in the CBD this little restaurant is surrounded by residential and office buildings.<br/ <br/ Inside the decor is modern, bright and quite homely. There are nice little touches including old photographs and small artwork depicting various aspects of Thai culture.<br/ <br/ You will need to go to the counter to place your order and the meals are served to your table.<br/ <br/ On my visit the staff were extremely friend and polite.<br/ <br/ The only let down was the time it took the food to come out. Our visit was on a Sunday evening and the restaurant only had 2 other tables occupied. We waited over 40 minutes for the food to come out which seemed rather long for a quiet night. <br/ <br/ Venue rating: 08/10<br/ <br/ __________________________________________________________________________________________<br/ <br/ Overall rating 26/30 <br/ <br/ I really enjoyed my experience at Kin Thai and looking forward to eating my way through the rest of the menu.
