Joe Allen's Pit Barbecue - Abilene

We ordered a sliced brisket sandwich with veggie sides, 2 meat plate with sausage and chicken sides, kids cheese stick plate, and kids chopped brisket sandwich. All the meats tasted really good, as well as the sauce. I got the spicy sauce. Before the food was brought out, they brought out some bread. They have 2 kinds of cornbread... regular and jalapeno. Enjoyed the fresh cornbread. The potato salad is really good, but it's a mashed potato style, not chunky. Our waitress was really nice and did great taking care of us. We were a little surprised that the staff didn't wear masks.

Had heard about this place before. Finally was able to get over there. Should have gone sooner! Take time, make time! Had the smoked grilled chicken breast. Tasty. Moist. Succulent. Nice location. My cousin, Ronnie Gill cut the mesquite Lumber the bar is made of. Same for the Bar shelves and Restaurant Doors. Plenty of parking too! This is a keeper! Looking forward to going there again when in town...

The 2' ribeye is so delicious you'll want to skip desert to finish it!

Great food, and great service. First time to eat there very impressed. Will go again if we are in the area. Service was there please and smiled and made at home.
